A long time ago... my father took me camping for the very first time. I was all of 8 and a fairly adventurous child with a vivid memory. I will always remember it clearly - the fire he fire looked like it was made of tall towers of crystals that seemed to dance in harmony with the trees and with every gust of wind that swept past the clearing where our tent was set up. It was ethereal and as you can see - quite unforgettable
This was the first time I've made a diaorama, and it's SO much FUN! Almost everything was made by hand using clay, wire, glue, acrylic paint, thermocol, cardboard, paper, canvas, gel wax, jute rope. The fire was made using plastic decorative beads. I wanted to give it the look and feel of the glimmering crystal like flames I remembered it to be. Besides the fire only the pebbles, dry moss, stones and a few of the plastic plants in the extreme background (which can't actually be seen) were not made by me.
The Fire also has a LED light beneath it that gives it that awesome glow!
Thank you so much! It was so difficult to manage the lighting that by the end of it I wasn't sure if it looked like night or dusk or any time of the day at all..
